Όταν το πλήρωμα του πλοίου ξεβράζει από το νερό τα συντρίμμια ενός παλιού διαστημικού σκάφους της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης, τα πράγματα γίνονται θανατηφόρα. Κι αυτό επειδή οι Ρώσοι πειραματίστηκαν με κάποιου είδους μικροσκοπικά πλάσματα για να αντέξουν την διαστημική ακτινοβολία, τα οποία επέζησαν, όμως μεταλλάχτηκαν και τώρα απειλούν τα μέλη του πληρώματος...

Ανακαλύπτουν όμως ένα video - παιχνίδι με τίτλο 'Beyond The Gates' που σχετίζεται με την εξαφάνιση του πατέρα τους και κρύβει θανάσιμους κινδύνους γι' αυτός που τολμούν να το παίξουν.
